Welcome to Saint Therese Parish
Dear brothers and sisters,
You may notice a new face around town, I’m Father Mathieu Isaac your new Pastor at Saint Therese Church in Granby. I’m pleased to address a few words to you. I would like first of all thank God for allowing me to be with you and to serve you glorifying His Name. I would like at the same time to thank His Excellency, the Most Reverend Archbishop Blair for this assignment. My gratitude goes as well to Monsignor Shanley for his hard word in the Archdiocese. Father Carlos is leaving but his work will continue.
I’m Father Mathieu Isaac. I’m 46 years old and come from a large family of 9 children. My parents were very well rooted in faith and deeply committed to the Catholic Church. I was born in Haiti and I studied in Europe (France). I came to the United States from Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake, and I return to Haiti annually. I was ordained on May 12, 2012, in the Cathedral of St. Joseph for the Archdiocese of Hartford. I served in numerous parishes as Parochial Vicar(New Britain, Hartford, Newington, Torrington, Ansonia, Seymour and Manchester). Temporary Chaplain at Hospitals such: Griffin, Saint Mary, Manchester, Hartford, and Saint Francis. Also as Temporary Administrator in South Windsor and Administrator at Sacred Heart in Bloomfield. Many congregations have benefited from my participation in their communities through myguidance, experience, education, and ability to converse in four languages such as (English, French, Spanish and Creole). I come to Granby now to minister in your midst.
It is my hope that together, grace, peace, faith and love will continue to flourish for the salvation of all in our parish and in the world. We are the same Church, the same Parish but, there is a new face in our family with the same vision and goal. We are more than ever called to be a sign of hope, love and peace for our brothers and sisters and for the sake of the kingdom of God. We are going to join all our skills and will to do our best with respect, faith and love. May God our Father continue to bestow his abundant grace upon each one of us. May He continue to strengthen and nourish us with the Holy Body and Blood of His Son and may Saint Therese pray for us?
